Today is the 24th March, which means that I only have about a month until my dissertation is due in…. Scary!
I’m feeling quite confident about it at the moment, although I know as the deadline draws closer that I will be feeling more stressed. I’m currently in the middle of writing up an analysis of my results, which is going pretty well at the moment. It only seems like yesterday that I started university, yet alone only having a couple of months until I graduate!
This is going to be a really busy month though. Altogether, I have my dissertation to complete and hand in, two projects, one essay and one exam. I might not sound like loads to some people, but to me it really is!
This year I have tried to keep on top of everything and start planning and writing essays way before the deadline to try and avoid stress. I’m pleased to say that so far it is working… *touch wood*. At the end of the last academic year, a third year student told my class (we were second year students at the time) that we should expect to spend at least 90% of this year crying over assignments, especially our dissertation. Hearing her say this freaked us all out. I get quite stressed easily anyway, so this was an even bigger push to make sure I stay focussed and on top of work to avoid the stress and tears as much as I can.
If anybody is reading this and is currently going through the phase of having mini breakdowns over the stress of work, then just try to relax as much as you can. That is harder than it sounds, I know, but the more you work up a stress about it, the worse it will make you. Keep calm, take on step at a time, and you will soon get there. Trust me, the end result will be worth all of the stress 🙂
