To A Stranger You Pass On The Street

I bumped into a stranger the other day. She stopped and asked me how I was; what I was doing with my life.

It felt awkward. I told her I was working, doing a job I love and I am back home living with my parents after three years away. I asked her the same questions back – “How are you? What are you doing in life?”

She pretty much said the same thing back – “I’m busy working. I have got myself a car to take me there and back each day from my parents house”.

We exchanged smiles for a few moments and stood hovering on our feet awkwardly unsure of what to say next.

After a couple of minutes of awkwardly looking around for something else to say, I wished her well and went on my way. Continue reading

Life in a fish bowl

I feel like I am in a fish bowl.. Not literally squashed in a tiny little bowl, but sat here with everybody stopping to look at me.. I’m sure you can understand what I mean when I come around to explaining it…

I’m sat in work at the moment. It’s a pretty quiet day today so I thought I would bring in my notebook and get writing whilst it’s quiet. Our shop is on the corner of a little arcade and there is a constant flow of people walking past day in day out having a nose. Don’t get me wrong, the location is 100% perfect for business. We get so many customers just from walking past and seeing us as well as word of mouth. Continue reading

Why Not Drinking Alcohol Shouldn’t Be Questioned

One thing I never understand is why some people are so surprised when you tell them that you “don’t drink alcohol”.

Why is it such a big deal?

Before I was put on the medication I am currently on I would socially drink. Sure, sometimes it got a bit wild and I would wake up with a massive hangover the next day but that was part of being young and wreckless. alc

However, I have noticed these days that when I say to somebody that “I’m not drinking” or “I don’t drink alcohol” they suddenly have to speak up and ask a gazillion questions. Same when somebody says “what are you drinking?” when we are out and my reply is “lemonade” – I get the most shocked responses questioning me how and why I am out when I’m not even drinking. I’m Back – Get To Know Me Tag

Hey Everyone!!

Yes, it’s me – I’m back. As many of you know, I have taken time off blogging. Since moving home from university I seem to have lost a lot of motivation for various reasons.

I have missed blogging and you guys so much, but I just couldn’t seem to face it for the last month or so. I am determined to get back into regular blogging again though, so I thought I would do a tag post today in order to ease myself back into it.

I hope to find you all well, and I look forward to catching up with you and your blogs again! 🙂

The tag I am going to do today is – “Get To Know Me’ Tag: 21 Questions. I am not actually sure where this tag originated from, as I just Googled different tags I could do, and this one looked like a great one to ease myself back in.

So, let’s get started!

Sunday Funday Challenge #6

Welcome to the sixth ‘Sunday Funday Challenge!’

For those of you unaware, I have set up this challenge myself in order to help you find new blogs that you will love, and to help promote your own blog posts to a different audience.

Here’s how it works:

1) Every Sunday I will post a blog post entitled ‘Sunday Funday Challenge’.

2) Every Sunday, you pick one blog post of your choice from your own blog, which you want to share with people. Copy and paste the URL into the comments section below in order to share it with other Sunday Funday participants.

3) Each Sunday, pick a different post from the week before, which you want to share.

It’s as simple as that!

Invite others to read your favourite posts, comment on blog posts which you love, and promote yourself.

If you have a Twitter account, share the challenge with your followers and use the hashtag #SundayFundayChallenge – The more the merrier and all bloggers are welcome!

So, let’s get started shall we?

Here is my post I’m going to share with you today – Our Anxiety Experience

Now, copy and paste a post of your own into the ‘comments’ section below, check out the posts shared by other bloggers and most of all have fun!! 🙂

This Is Why I Love Blogging…

Since becoming a blogger, I have gained so much more confidence in my writing and myself, and have felt happier in general life too.

I have always been one for writing things down. When I was younger, I would keep a diary, and I have always had a passion for writing. I started a blog last year which I updated every now and then, but I didn’t really get into it or meet other bloggers that much.

A month ago, I decided to start fresh and create a new blog to update as often as I can. I set up a separate email account and twitter account (@bigdreams1993) to go with it, to keep myself as organised as possible.why-blog-2

The moment I had created it, I loved it. Within the first night, so many other bloggers welcomed me to the blogging community, and I immediately felt at home. I honestly couldn’t believe how nice and how understanding everybody was. Since then, I have grown to learn more and more about other bloggers, do guest posts for bloggers and invite them to do guest posts for myself, and I have even worked with other bloggers on collaboration posts.

It has now been almost 4 weeks since I first started my blog, and I do not regret it at all. I have met so many amazing people, got to know more about them all, share my thoughts and views with other bloggers, and see the world from hundreds of different perspectives.

I have always been a shy, self-conscious girl – I would always be too shy to show other people my writing – but since blogging, I have came right out of my shell. I have found a place to feel calm, welcome and most importantly be myself. Blogging has already given me many opportunities to further my writing career, and each day throws new opportunities at me.

This is why I love blogging 🙂
